FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Long Island MacArthur Airport to Host
Pop-Up Booth at Air Show
Islip, NY – May 24, 2024 – Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) will be on-site at the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach State Park for a second year. In addition to ISP serving as a key staging area for many performing Air Show teams, MacArthur Airport will be on the boardwalk near Show Central with an innovative immersive pop-up area.
“Our presence at the Air Show offers us the opportunity to both showcase MacArthur Airport, and reach out to the community in an interactive way at this important Long Island aviation event,” said Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
“Many Air Show attendees will remember our pop-up area last year. So many people came by to take fun photos, learn more about MacArthur Airport’s direct destinations, and enter for a chance to win prizes,” said Airport Commissioner Shelley LaRose-Arken. “We’ll be back again in the same location just west of Show Central,” she added.
The prize drawing includes a Southwest Airlines gift card, and creatively themed prizes featuring Breeze Airways and Frontier Airlines. Noise-cancelling headphones, luggage, and other items will go to lucky winners attending the Air Show and filling out drawing entry forms at the booth.
An upbeat airport “Street Team” will staff the airport’s Air Show pop-up installation providing a welcoming and friendly vibe. Additionally, visitors can look for the blue traditional canopy at the Air Show.
“Air Show visitors and local residents can also listen for radio advertisements on Air Show Sponsors KJOY, WALK and other Connoisseur Media stations. We’re excited to be on the Jones Beach Boardwalk to celebrate the Air Show’s 20th anniversary and become more recognizable among the thousands of visitors enjoying this important Long Island aviation tradition,” she added.
“This year our message is ‘Unpack an Adventure,’ and features the many destinations Long Island residents can visit right from their easy hometown regional airport,” LaRose-Arken said.
“This summer your relaxing getaway can begin as soon as you arrive at Islip’s Long Island MacArthur Airport. It’s a great time to take a trip to explore seasonal routes on our three air carriers including Portland, Maine on Breeze Airways; and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Frontier Airlines; along with year-round nonstop and connecting flights on Southwest Airlines,” Carpenter added.
